Norma Patricia "Pat" Weeks passed away April 24, 2023 in Mission Viejo, CA. She was born September 9, 1933 in Kansas City, MO to John Hennessy and Norma Rush. She was a long time resident of Dana Point, CA.
At age 15 she moved from Kansas City, with her parents, to Montreal, Canada and spent 2 years there before they moved to Santa Monica, CA. She married Albert "Bud" Weeks in 1954 and attended California State University Northridge where she graduated, cum laude, with a degree in Speech Therapy. She worked as a speech therapist in several schools until her retirement from Saddleback School District at age 57.
She and her mother were passionate genealogists and visited courthouses, cemeteries and libraries before she volunteered at the National Archives Pacific Region where she helped people find their ancestors in the US Census records on microfilm and later in computer records. Then in 1994 she became a charter member of the South Orange County Genealogical Society and served as newsletter editor, recording secretary, volunteer at the Mission Viejo Library Genealogy Desk and leader of the French Canadian Special Interest Group at various times.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her son Doug Weeks of Fallbrook, CA, grandsons Mike Weeks of Carlsbad, CA and Ryan Weeks of Chino Hills, CA, 3 great-grandchildren and her longtime partner, Herb Abrams of Mission Viejo, CA.
A private service will be held for family members.
