Obituary
Norma Fassett Ford went peacefully into the arms of God on April 7, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She is survived by her husband Douglas G. Ford; daughter Kristine Williams; son-in-law Greg Williams; granddaughter, Penelope Grace Williams; son, Nicolas J. Woods; step-son, Travis Ford; step-daughter, Jessica Russell; brother, Eric Fassett; nieces, Kami & Erin Fassett; sister-in-law, Beth Clark; and mother, Carlota O’Neal.
Norma was born on October 12, 1953 in Bottineau, North Dakota. She grew up in South America where she lived in Lima, Peru, Caracas, Venezuela, and the Canal Zone. She moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1971 where she married her first husband, Brian Woods and raised their children Kristine and Nicholas. In 1992, Norma moved to Orange County where she resided in Fountain Valley with her current husband Douglas Ford.
Norma and her husband enjoyed traveling and took many memorable trips and cruises to exciting destinations all over the world. Norma was an avid cook and loved to entertain family and friends no matter what the occasion. Norma’s greatest joy was her granddaughter Penny.
Norma worked in the private career school field for 29 years in the area of student financial aid. For the last six years she served as the Corporate Director of Financial Aid for American Career College and West Coast University in Orange County.
Funeral services will be held at the Community Lutheran Church in Rancho Santa Margarita. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
