   My beautiful friend Nina. I was planning a trip to visit from Massachusetts. I think I will come out one day just to meet the wonderful friends who love you. You have been a bright spot in a sometimes dim world for me during the past 5 years, now I’ll have to go it without you. I will remember all of the encouragement you gave me and it will help I’m sure but I sure do miss you…… Love always

   Nina and I started working at Zoomars around the same time. I spent so many hours working with Nina. I know all of her stories about growing up in Massachusetts and the different life experiences she had. Stories from being a child when she would fearlessly play and get hurt running around and hunting pheasants – but she was so tough.

   Nina loved talking about herself  She had so many stories – when she got hit by a car on her bike, her crazy spider bite. She talked so much about her family. Her family was so important to her.

   Although Nina and I were so different, we worked well together side by side and I always thought that she really had the absolute perfect job for her personality. She loved talking to people and she was always positive, happy, & energetic. She was full of life. Very independent. She took care of herself, ate healthy, and did her power walking every day.

   Rest in Peace my dear friend, Nina Leone.
   I am so sad we didn’t see each other more in the past couple years but I’m happy you were able to meet Nat and give us blessings on getting married. I’m glad to have been able to grieve over Natalie’s death with you. I will always cherish memories of you & Natuhlee Margaret. 

   One story that I will always remember is when Carlos Mendoza and I found a white dove on Los Rios street. We knew it wasn’t a wild bird – it was an escaped pet or released from a wedding.

   Carlos and I spent a long time trying to catch the bird. It flew up in a tree. He finally captured it with his bare hands and we got it in a cage. We were so triumphant. We wanted to get the bird to keep as a pet.

   Nina, on the other hand, thought that it was a terrible thing to put a bird like that in a cage. She wanted it to be in the trees and in the skies. After all of our work, she simply walked to the barn and released the bird from its cage. She set it free. That’s Nina for you. 

   Lovely,charming,the perfect lady,always bringing a smile to everyone she met. I feel privileged to have been a small part of her journey-with every meeting she always enhanced mine. Thank you pretty lady and god bless you always .
