Nicoline Monfils, or Nicky as she liked to be called, passed away peacefully on July 18,2023, in Mission Viejo at the age of 97 years young. Still vibrant till her final days here even doing exercises on her last day. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years together, William Monfils. Nicky will be reunited with her Bill as she thought about him every day.

Nicky was born on November 9, 1925 in Indonesia as the second youngest of ten siblings. She is the last to survive of her brothers and sisters, so this is an "End of an Era"for the Tiwon family, Nicky's maiden name. She met her Bill in Indonesia and married in 1950. They moved to the Netherlands in 1955 finally immigrating to the the United States with their children in 1961, in Los Angeles. After Nicky and Bill retired they moved to Mission Viejo where they continued their busy social life with all their Dutch-Indo friends

Nicky loved cooking Indonesian food and baking cakes and cookies. Everyone loved her food.Bill was always her souse chef in the kitchen as they made a great team. They worked in the garden together as Nicky loved her plants and flowers.

Nicky and Bill finally moved to Las Vegas in 2002 where many of their close friends did the same. Nicky lived there 20 years before moving back to Mission Viejo. Nicky loved playing the slot machines as she had a lot of luck hitting jackpots.  Mom learned how to use Facebook and would spend hours each day keeping up with family all around the world as well as friends. This really kept her going. She would go to the buffets there and stay for hours eating a little of everything.

Nicky is survived by her children Richard Monfils and wife Carolyn, Ingrid Wisnieski and husband Allen, Paul Monfils and Marcel Monfils and wife Ana. Grandchildren are Natasha Monfils, Katrina Monfils, Michael Wisniewski and Karen Fitzgerald and husband Sean. Many family members are in the Netherlands, Indonesia, Australia, Europe and throughout the United States. Nicky will be missed by all.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Mission Viejo on August 7 at 10:30 am continuing at Ascension Cemetery in Lake Forest at 12:00 pm.
