Nicole Dubois, of Lake Forest, California, died on November 20, 2022 of liver failure associated with metastatic breast cancer.  She was 44 years old.

Nicole was born on August 15, 1978 in Mission Viejo, California.  She graduated from Santa Margarita Catholic High School in 1996, and went on to attend Pitzer College for her Bachelor’s Degree where she graduated in 2000. Following her undergraduate studies, Nicole attended the University of Southern California for her Masters in (Urban) Planning and graduated in 2002.

Nicole began work at LSA Associates, Inc., in 2002, and was ultimately promoted to Principal and Managing Principal.  It was at LSA that she met the love of her life, Arthur Black. Arthur and Nicole married on July 9, 2010. They welcomed Clifton in 2012, Andrew in 2014, and Marcus in 2018.  Despite her illustrious career, Nicole’s greatest pride and joy was her family.  She believed that being a wife and mother was the greatest privilege of her life.

She was also grateful to have known brothers Daniel Greenfield of La Crescenta, California, and John Day of Santa Rosa, California, and sister, Wendy Allen of Placentia, California.

  1. Sending all my love and peace to you and your family.

  2. Jo-Ann Maurice says:

My deepest sympathy to all the family and friends.

  3. Nicole and I “met” in an online support group for young women living with metastatic breast cancer. We were both newly diagnosed, and we shared many of the same thoughts, hopes, and fears for our futures. In the three years since, Nicole and I have (virtually) held each other’s hands through scans, treatments, and side effects from our cancer treatments. We also spent many late nights messaging about our babies and “normal” mama stuff. She loved her boys fiercely, and she was so proud of them. Though I never had the fortune of meeting Nicole in person, I feel that I have lost an incredible friend. I cannot imagine the loss felt by those who knew and loved Nicole the most. I will carry Nicole in my heart and draw from her hope and strength always, as I continue to face the beast that stole such a beautiful mother, wife, daughter, and friend from this world.

  4. My deepest condolences to everyone. May Nikki rest in peace with the Father knowing she was loved and respected by many.

  5. So much sadness in my heart.
May the Lord hold his loving arms around the family.
