Nicholas John
Covelli
February 29, 1924 – January 9, 2008
Nicholas Covelli was born the youngest of three children from an Italian American family. His father instilled in him a strong, honest work ethic that benefited Nick all his life. First serving our country in the Army during the Second World War and then, as a LAPD police officer, he would become betrothed and upon the persuasion of his young wife, Nick chose a new career path. As with his earlier pursuits, Nick kept focused and developed many successful business pursuits; Automobile franchise dealerships; the first chain of self-serve gasoline stations in Orange County and several executive management positions with Rossmore. Throughout his life, Nick and his wife Colleen shared 54 years of happy marriage. Together they shared a passion for travel and fine dining all over the world. Rich in wisdom; Nick was happy to share all his adventures and life experiences with everyone who would share the time. Nick had a memory of exacting detail and he remembered all of the little things in his long life. Despite the fact that over the years I heard the same stories many times over, I never interrupted Nick. The words not only told an entertaining story but held lessons on how to live and celebrate life. As I have grown older, I realize the value the greatest gift Nick gave,TIME. It is said that the measure of a man's success is not the personal wealth or material possessions he accumulates, but rather the gift of time he gives to others. Nicholas lived a long, loving, fruitful life of 84 years, giving back time to all that loved and knew him.
