Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Nellie Davini Prioli, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She passed on Sunday August 7, 2016 at the age of 88 surrounded by loved ones.
Nellie is survived by her husband, Gene, sister Flora Giannini, three daughters: Stefanie Zoellner, Annette Lee, Jeannie Bresnen, five grandchildren: Anthony Zoellner, Erin Lee, Andrew Lee, Ashley Zoellner, Cory Peoples, and 1 great grandson, Robert Mastel, Jr.
Nellie was born in Stockton, CA on March 5, 1928 to Alfredo and Louisa Davini and graduated from Stockton High School in 1945 where she completed secretarial curriculum. She worked for Grupe Land Development after graduation for many years.
On December 1, 1957, Nellie married Gene Prioli (also of Stockton CA) and they settled in Whittier CA where they raised their family. In 1983, Gene and Nellie moved to Johnstown Pennsylvania to follow Gene’s steelmaking career where she loved the four seasons with snowy winters. In 1987 they moved to Laguna Niguel CA to enjoy their retirement years with their family close by. Nellie formed long lasting friendships wherever she lived.
Nellie was known for energetic smile and gift of conversation and for cooking Italian dishes for her family. She loved to play cards, read, garden, complete word puzzles, shop, go out to lunch with her girl friends and collect beanie babies. She watched NCIS, Food Network, bicycle races and horseracing on television. Gene and Nellie traveled to many states in their camping trailer and also traveled to many countries as well.
What Nellie liked best was being a wife to Gene and being surrounded by her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all those who know her and love her.
