Obituary

Nelda Jean McLear Landers was born on February 10, 1922 to William and Nellie McLear. She was the youngest of five children all of whom have preceded her in death. She spent her young years living in Kansas City, Missouri and on the farm in Gunn City, MIssouri. She was proud of her days in Gunn City and as it allowed her to graduate from high school. The value of education was most dear to her heart.

Nelda married Charles Maurice Landers (Buddy) January 5, 1942 and raised four children. Her son William Joseph died in 1992 but Karen Louise McGlinn, Charles Maurice Landers (Chuck), and Mary Kathleen Genereux (Kathy) survive her.

Nelda was an exceptional business woman and proudly established Nelda’s Gold Shop in Palm Desert, California after an illustrious career in merchandising. Her joy was celebrating and loving the spouses of her children, eight grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. Nelda was greatly loved, cherished, and her legacy to all is her enduring faith in God.. She touched all with her kindness, tenacity of spirit, and her power of forgiveness.

In lieu of flowers Nelda would ask that you think one good thought about someone who may have hurt or injured you and allow forgiveness to flower in your heart. Should anyone desire to provide a charitable gift, please donate to Share Our Selves (SOS) at www.shareourselves.org.
