Obituary

Nathan Daniel Olivas

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass.
It’s about learning to dance in the rain.”

It is with great sadness that the family of Nathan Daniel Olivas announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the age of 33 years.

Nathan was born in Mesa, Arizona on July 26, 1984. He attended Veora Johnson Elementary, Greenfield Junior High School and Gilbert High School. Throughout his school years, he excelled in Academics and a variety of sports such as gymnastics, wrestling, football, track and field including dance. His Dance career began while he attended Gilbert High School, as he was the first male to make the high school dance team.

After graduation, he moved to Northern California where he enrolled in college and pursued his real estate license at 19 years of age. While working in real estate he attended Cal State East Bay where he studied Dance Education in the Performing Arts. Once he obtained his Bachelor Degree, he received a full scholarship to the University of California, Irvine where he excelled and graduated with honors and obtained a Master’s Degree in Dance Education in the Performing Arts.

Nathan enjoyed teaching dance at UCI for 2 years. His passion and love for the Arts was paramount. His relentless work ethic and dedication was his driving force.

Nathan was a beautiful gentle soul. He carried a money clip in one pocket and a pocket knife given by his dad in the other. His favorite past time was watching movies on the big screen and enjoying Sunday night dinners with his parents.

Nathan will be forever remembered by his father, Daniel Olivas and his mother, Michele Olivas.

May you always walk in sunshine.

May you always walk in sunshine
    and God’s around you flow,
for the happiness you gave us,
    no one will ever know.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you did not go alone,
a part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
A million times we needed you,
    a million times we’ve cried.
If love could only have saved you,
    you never would have died.
The Lord be with you and
    may you rest in peace.
    Unknown.

Love and miss you, remembered but never forgotten ❤ ??
