Obituary

Natalie Marie Foster was born in Riverside California September 16, 1983. She died on April 13th, 2010 at home in San Clemente surrounded by her family.

Natalie was the baby of three girls and was stricken with Rett Syndrome a severe neurologic disease that affects girls both mentally and physically. She bravely fought for 26 years, which was more than predicted for her life. Natalie through it all was always a happy, congenial girl and for most of her life wore a big smile. She attended school and graduated from Tesoro High School special education program.

Although Natalie never spoke a word and spent the last 12 years of her life in a wheelchair, she had a lasting impact on all who knew her and left a special mark on this world.

She was the light of her family’s life and will forever be missed.

She was preceded in death by her older sister Christina who also died of complications of Rett Syndrome in December of 2000.

Natalie is survived by her mom Susan Foster, dad Ralph Foster, big sister Nicole Carlson, brother-in-law Craig Carlson, and niece Chloe Carlson.

Fly away our sweet angel, be with your sister free at last in a place free of pain, free to walk and run, free to talk to your hearts desire. We will miss you with all our hearts but we know that you are finally free at last in a place more beautiful than we can imagine.

Forever loved,
Mom, Dad, Nicole, Craig and Chloe

  1. Dear Ralph, Suzie, Nicole, Craig and Chloe,

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of the sweetest angel to ever have graced this planet and my life, your very own Natalie Marie. Words can not express what this amazing woman meant to me and how blessed I am to be able to say that not only did I know her but that she was a dear friend of mine. I’m not too sure of much right now but what I am sure of is that no matter what life handed her she was always smiling and living life to the fullest. She taught me so many lessons about life and I feel blessed to have known her and her beautiful sister, Christina. The biggest lesson that I will carry on from her is how to love without any judgement.

Natalie, watching you and how you dealt with whatever life handed you made me redefine strength and the greatness of love. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself and what life handed you, you lived for the moment and created wonderful memories that will last forever in my heart. Thank you for teaching me so much about life. Thank you for sharing your infectious loving spirit that shined clearly through your bright hazel eyes, your movie award winning smile and your contagious laughter. I will forever be changed as a person because of you and will remember you forever. Until we meet again, go and enjoy dancing in the streets of heaven with Christina.

    Love,
    Nathalie

I am so sorry for loss but now unless Christina and Natalie are together watching over you and Ralph and Craig and Nicole and Chole they will be your guardian angels forever. Natalie and Christina are playing together and Natalie is talking to Christina about how they have a niece on earth now I will alway remember them both

  3. May your angel Natalie watch over all our angel’s! God Bless you all!

I am sorry to hear of your loss.
I did not know Natalie, however she was your child and a child of God. As a parent I understand how deeply this bond of love is. My prayer is for your comfort and her peace.

  5. Our heart felt condolences are sent to you and your family for the loss of another beautiful daughter. To lose two daughters to this symdrome is so unfair and we cannot comprehend what you must be going through during this time. Please be assured that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers and may Natalie RIP with her beloved sister Christine. May they run, laugh and talk in harmony and in peace. Angel Hugs from another Rett family in Ohio.

Douglas, Carole, Eden 13, Samuel 11 and our sweet Angel Erin 7 R133C Cushman
