Obituary

Nanci Lois Rocheleau, 63, of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, made her journey home on June 1, 2014. She was a beloved Wife, Daughter, Mother, Nana, Aunt, Saddleback Volunteer, Friend and Follower of Christ. She was born on April 4, 1951 in Moorehead, Minnesota. Now, she joins her loving parents LaVonne Elsie Troxell and Jerry Lee Troxell in heaven.

Nanci grew up in both Minnesota and Southern California. She met her loving husband Terry Rocheleau at Fountain Valley High School, thus beginning their 48 years together – 44 of which were spent in a beautiful, committed marriage. During the first several years of their marriage, Nanci worked as a hairdresser with her mother-in-law at ‘Patty’s Pampered Lady’. During the same time period, Nanci gave birth to two daughters – Shannon and Lindsey.

As Shannon and Lindsey grew closer to the (dreaded) teenage years, Nanci elected to stay at home to keep them in line. She spent a large number of years at home in the capacity of Domestic Engineer. Several years after Shannon and Lindsey left the nest, Nanci suffered an extremely frightening health scare. God performed a miracle and spared her, and Nanci decided she would not let the years she was given back be spent idle. She became a volunteer at Saddleback Church and has touched a multitude of lives with her kindness, generosity, and willingness to serve.

Nanci is survived by her immediate family: Husband Terry Rocheleau, Daughters Shannon Rocheleau and Lindsey Finn, Sons-in-law Tony Hill and Travis Finn, Brother Garry Troxell, Sisters Judy Dixon and Vicky Mitchell, and Grandchildren Mikayla Rocheleau, Corban Finn, Logan Finn, Jillian Finn, Toni Hill, and Braylon Hill. Nanci is also survived by her considerable church family. As you all likely know, Nanci’s life these last several years was dedicated to her family, both her blood family and her church family. Her days were centered on these two groups of loved ones and this brought her immense joy.

Nanci’s delightful, positive nature which was punctuated by mischievous and sassy moments will be dearly missed by so many. Nanci was a kind soul; her commitment to Christ, her devotion to family, and the love she carried for her church will be remembered fondly.

Nanci asked that we celebrate her beautiful life, so please join us for a Memorial Celebration on Monday, June 16th, 2014 at 10am. The Celebration will be held in the main worship center at Saddleback Church, Lake Forest Campus with a reception immediately following on the main worship patio. Saddleback is located at:
