Obituary

Naldo “Nobby” Francis Vecchio
February 25, 1934 to March 27, 2019

On Wednesday morning at around 5:00 am, March 27, 2019,  Naldo “Nobby” Francis Vecchio, loving husband, father of seven, grandfather of nine, and great-grandfather of 8 passed away at the age of 85.

Nobby was born on February 25, 1934 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Carmen and Lillian Vecchio.    He attended Union County College and then transferred to Seton Hall University.   He was an insurance professional for 37 years.   For 46 years Eva Marie Norman was his partner, soul mate and wife.

Nobby had a passion for traveling, watching sports, playing bocce ball, and eating desserts.    He traveled nearly around the world touching five continents.   He visited Europe including England, France, Spain, and Italy to name a few.   He cruised to St. Petersburg, Russia and the Mediterranean which brought him to the Northern Coast of Africa.    He had also visited Japan, Taiwan, and Colombia. He enjoyed watching baseball and basketball games on the television.   He was a Knicks fan and did not like the Lakers.   He would yell at the TV on how a 7-foot tall basketball player would miss a two-foot basket shot.    About 10 years ago he began playing bocce ball on Wednesday and Sunday at the local parks.  He did not like desserts.   He loved them.  Puddings, Cake, Blueberry Pie and anything that contained sugar surely hit the spot.

  2. I miss you more than words can express. You weren’t just my Grandfather, but more like a Dad. You raised me, cared for me, taught me right from wrong, but most importantly you were there for me when no one else was! I hope you know just how big of an impact you had in my life, that without you, my life would of probably been a tragic one. You were my advisor and helped me make critical life decisions, so keep listening because I will still come to you often for guidance. It pains me that you are no longer here with us physically, but I know that you are now one of my
Spirit guides and will keep me and the kids safe. Donald, the kids and myself love you immensely, see you on the other side!!

Nobbs, Helped us in a in our rent a car business such a good partner in busness and a dear friend. We always called him gingles because of the change in his pocket. We met him in West Wood when he sold insurance. What a good friend in to us….

  4. Dad came home from the hospital and the next day we had birthday celebration for him. He is very tired in this photo but he did manage to smile. For desert he ate creme brulee! Dad ate it all gone like…….”_____” “

  5. Dear Eva, Lindsay, and Haroun: I am so incredibly sorry to learn of Nobby’s passing.

Nobby, you were always so kind to me. The way you and Eva stepped in for Lindsay and Haroun and cared for them is the definition of noble. I remember you ironing Haroun’s tee shirts for school so he would look “presentable.” That act of service was one of so many.

I will remember you always as a man with a huge heart who took amazing care of those he loved.
