Myrtice Diane Hellam
August 20, 1933 – April 5, 2020
A native of Sacramento, California born to Fred and Margaret Sage. She was one of three daughters and was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents and her sister Barbara.
Myrtice passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 86. She was the beloved wife of Richard, married for 56 years. Loving mother of Karen, Jennifer, and Robert. Grandmother of Erika, Brad, Meagan, Lexi, and Hannah and Great Grandmother of Nicholas, Taylor, Addie, Melanie, Ben, Bailey, Levi, Lucas, Audrey, Allison, and Andrew.
Myrtice graduated from C. K. McClatchy High School and Sacramento State College in Sacramento, California. She retired from the State of California, Office of Criminal Justice Department where she worked for 26 years.
Myrtice was a long time active member of St John’s Lutheran Church in Sacramento, California, where she sang in the choir.
Myrtice and Richard loved to travel visiting Alaska, Australia, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe and the South Pacific, as well as many areas of the United States. One of her passions was gardening.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted for the Land Garcia Foundation. This foundation was started by a very close family friend who invests in youth by providing leadership training, coaching, and support to help them succeed in college, their careers and beyond.
