IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Myron Lee
Sipp
November 23, 1962 – November 26, 2024
Myron Lee Sipp, 62, passed away on November 26, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 23, 1962, Myron touched many lives and will always be remembered for the twinkle in his eye, his bear hugs, and his quest to know Jesus.
Myron (Jr) was born in Nebraska, to Myron and Marguerite. He loved to tell the story of the family moving to California when he was three, the VW bug hauling a small trailer as it struggled up the mountains in Colorado. Once in California he grew up in Huntington Beach, where he played sports in high school; from football practice to a dip in the ocean and back again. Soon after graduating with the Wild n Crazy class of '80, he and some friends were involved in a terrible car accident where a bunch of them were flipped out of the back of a pickup truck on a freeway. After a number of brain surgeries and a long recovery, he improved enough to go on to eventually become an IT technician, and marry and have two beautiful children. His recovery, though remarkable, did affect him the rest of his life. He said God still wanted him on this earth for a reason.
He married his second wife, Lara, in 2005. In the last couple of decades, he was on a mission to know as much about God as he could. He read the Bible most days, participated in multiple study groups, read book after book, and remembered so much of what he read that he could answer most questions anyone had without needing to look anything up. He also loved to host friends and family in the backyard, calling himself the Keeper of the Flame (bbq).
Myron and Lara loved the wildness of the Big Island of Hawaii and went as often as they could. He was also always up for a road trip, even to Hanford and back in one day for birthday ice cream at Superior Dairy. Always in the driver's seat after the pickup truck accident, he loved to indulge Lara's photo bug and quickly stop anywhere for her to get out and take photos.
Myron was generous with his time and homemade chocolate chip cookies "made with love" and will be missed by so many; at church, in the neighborhood, by friends near and far, and most of all by his family. Myron is survived by his wife Lara, children Kellie (John), and Eric (Mary), granddaughter Charlotte, sister December, mother Marguerite, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father Myron.
