February 24, 1993 – July 22, 2022
Beloved Son

Patrick Dewey was born in Maryland in 1993 where he spent most of the first 20 years of his life. In his youth he enjoyed sports and music. He played on recreational  soccer and swim teams and was a member of his school band. He played a number of instruments including the saxophone and the guitar. As he approached his teenage years he focused on tennis. He played varsity tennis in high school and was a member of the United States Tennis Association where he played on the junior circuit for six years. He won a handful of tournaments and was ranked in the top 100 junior tennis players in the middle Atlantic states.

Patrick moved to California when he was 20. He attended a number of different community colleges and eventually got certified as a web developer, as a Personal Trainer and as a Physical Therapy assistant. He continued to enhance his skills in software engineering and development and enrolled in a software engineering curriculum at Arizona State University. At the time of his death he was a junior at the top of his class with a 4.2 grade point average.

Patrick’s other interests included golf, cooking and rooting for his favorite sports teams – the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. Patrick was a gregarious individual with a quick wit and an incredible sense of humor. He was a beacon of light to everyone who knew him. He will be sadly missed. Patrick is survived by his mother Eileen and his father Bob.

  1. Most shocking and heart breaking for Binita and I and for my whole
Family as Patrick became our family member after Rudy, my son introduced to us. We were feeling so happy and positive when ever he used to visit our home and we always felt good treating Indian food. We always enjoyed spiritual talks and sharing our thoughts about each other religion practices. After becoming our family friend, he also started helping me in my new business developing our company website and we value his contribution to our business. We really miss him so much and it was indeed shocking for our entire family. May God rest his soul in peace 🙏

Patrick was more than my good friend, he was my brother. Hearing what happened crushed me, I am still very speechless. He was an amazing person, so humble and down to earth. He was brilliant and extremely talented. Patrick always had a smile on his face and he knew how to make you smile, he always laughed after his statements beating you to the laughter. I am so very thankful I had the opportunity to be such a close friend of Patrick’s and he will forever remain in my heart. I’ll never understand why this happens to such good people. He had so many dreams, and he had the drive to accomplish them. I am so sorry Bob and Eileen, I know what you are going through is extremely hard. I’m always here for you both if you ever need anything at all. I will miss my brother and I will always cherish the memories we had together. I am so mad and sad and still shocked but all I know is that I will always love him. May he Rest In Peace 🙏♥️♥️

    Eileen and Bob,
I just learned about the loss of Patrick. There are no words, none at all. But I just felt the need to reach out over the miles and the years and say that I remember that sweet little boy. I hope each day that passes and each time you have a chance to share a story about his life…that you can feel some small measure of comfort. Here is a quote that I have read often, at times of loss. Maybe it will mean something to you too.

“The agony is great and yet I will stand it. Had I not loved so much I would not hurt so much. But goodness knows I would not want to diminish that precious love by one fraction of an ounce. I will hurt. And I will be grateful for that hurt for it bears witness to the depth of our meaning. And for that I will be eternally grateful.

  4. RIP brother.
Although we didn’t stay in touch consistently, hearing the news left a pit in my stomach.
Anyone that knew Pat probably felt the same, his energy and liveliness was a treasure.
I still remember when we became friends long ago, you convinced me to come over and jam to music (only one of us was musically talented) and your mom made us pizza rolls (that was my first time eating them).
Legit every time since then, I’ve eaten Tostinos and thought about that day.
And every time after, I’ll always think of you, brother.
Prayers to your family and the rest of your friends, your impact was profound and the loss becomes that much harder.
    Until the next time 🖤
