  1. Querido Angelito,

    Monica,

You have been and will always be a role model to me. I miss you so very much.

  3. Monica,
You will always be in our hearts forever and you will be greatly missed. I feel so blessed to have known you. Thank you for all that you did for everyone and for myself. I learned a lot from you as a professional and as a person in such a short amount of time. We know you are now in heaven with God at your side.

  4. My heartfelt condolences to Brett and all of Monica’s family. I’ve known Monica since she began working at OCDE. We became friends over the years and we would talk about all kinds of things travels, scuba diving, houses, husbands, “girly things,” etc., but only rarely about the cancer. Instead, she was more concerned about how I was doing. My husband also scuba dives, but I don’t, and she encouraged me to go with him to see some of the beautiful places she’d been. She had a bit of sassiness to her, which I loved, and periodically called me a “dork” which I also loved! She had a great spirit, amazing strength and courage, and an ability to live each day. That’s the biggest lesson I’ll take from knowing Monica — living each day to its fullest. I will miss her tremendously, will think of her often, and she will always have a place in my heart. May God bless you with his strength and love during this difficult time. With much sympathy,

Monica: You were one classy lady and easy to love. No matter what, you were always kind. I never heard you utter one bad word about anyone, even when you were angry, which was rarely. I will never forget your kindness to me during an extremely bad time in my life. You will be missed, but your strong spirit will continue. You are an inspiration to us all.
