Obituary

Mohammad Kazem Khashayar, also known as Shahpour, was born on September 5, 1933, to Mousa and Fatemeh. He lost his father at a very young age and was raised primarily by his devoted mother. From an early age, he learned the values of hard work, discipline, and perseverance, always striving to support his family and make the most of every opportunity to learn and grow.

After graduating from high school, he entered the police academy and began a distinguished career in law enforcement. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in police management and law enforcement and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a Captain, Major, Full Colonel, and eventually a General faster than anyone in his class.

At one point in his career, he was stationed in the city of Qom. Believing that his assignment there was not truly serving or helping people, he requested an immediate transfer. That decision would later prove significant. Following the revolution, he was recognized for his humanity and integrity as an officer, awarded the rank of two-star General, and appointed Chief of Police.

Beyond his accomplishments, he was a man of deep compassion and great devotion to both his family and his faith. Together with his beloved wife, Maryam, he made the pilgrimage to Mecca, a deeply meaningful moment in their lives. He loved poetry and often wrote poems dedicated to the love of his life, Maryam, who became his lifelong partner and closest companion. Together, they built a loving family and raised three children.

He loved traveling, spending time with family, and helping others whenever he could, often without even being asked. Over the years, both his immediate and extended family, as well as many friends, came to rely on him for guidance, support, and strength during difficult times. Above all else, his greatest joy was his family. Later in life, his grandchildren became what he lovingly called “the lights of his life.”

After retiring, he moved to the United States to be closer to his children and family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maryam; his children, Abbas, Shahrzad, and Amir; his grandchildren, Samira, Mohammad Sadra, Sahar, Daryuish, and Parisa; and his great-grandchild, Neekrad.

He will be remembered with love and admiration by all who knew him as a man of honor, generosity, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
