Obituary
Minnie Marie Landry passed away peacefully Monday March 23, 2009 at her home in Laguna Woods following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family and will be dearly missed by all.
Minnie was born in Victoria, Texas on July 20, 1923, the daughter of Fidencio and Corina Canchola, one of a large family of 8 children. She moved from Texas to Burbank in 1964 where she worked at St Joseph’s Hospital in the Medical Insurance Department. Minnie and her husband, Al Landry, then retired and moved to Leisure World in Laguna Hills. They loved to travel by air, sea and land and did so extensively, and were members of the Airstream Caravan Club.
Minnie was known for exceptional beauty, elegance, her loving nature and devotedness to her church, St. Nicholas Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Albert Landry and survived by her son, Bryan and wife, Memery; daughter Carla; her step-children Sally husband Russell and Nancy, as well as 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Leo and Oscar and their families.
A rosary and vigil will be held at O’Connor Mortuary on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. A memorial mass will be held on Friday morning at St. Nicholas Church on El Toro Rd.
She is forever in our hearts and her spirit is always with us. Please join us in the celebration of her life.
