    Note:
The following is a poem I wrote, two years ago, for my friend Michelle. In the beautiful time we shared together, she always had me call her “Mimi.”

    If Only You Knew …

That once upon a distant memory,
    long before I was conceived,
God had already cast my destiny on Heaven’s Stage.
For I was an Angel, patiently waiting to come of age.
Carefree, safe and loved I felt,
always comforted in His warm embrace.

Then one day, as I peeked beyond Heaven’s gates …
My soul was drawn to this splendid sphere of white and blue.
As I gazed in wondrous amazement, I could hear God’s whisper,
… in His ever so tender Grace.

    “Precious Angel, it is time.
Of Heaven you must take leave. This is your home,
but for now, your work is incomplete…

Go forth, My Angel. for the journey’s brief.
I will summon you Home quickly,
to return to Me and to eternal Peace …”

To the God I love, my soul’s promise embraced …
on wings powered by His Love, the journey to Earth I made.
Faithfully and gallantly my duties I did discharge,
of daughter, sister, spouse, mother and true friend at large.
Love dispensed and love received, I harvested friendship’s joys
and the new angel friends I would need.
Earth’s sojourn was so very brief, yet my life so beautigul and complete.

At journey’s end, God’s call was clear …
And with wings powered by the love of those I left behind,
    Heaven is finally here.
And now I know why my Father sent me …
to meet mom and dad, to harvest my family and friends…
for my final Heavenly home, you see.

May you always feel the gentle breeze of my love,
the laughter of my voice and the smiles from my heart.
May your path forward be lit ever so brightly,
by my love and by the memories of our special friendships.
And so, to all of you I say …

“If only you knew … I came because of you!”
