Obituary

Michael Stephen Aimola, dedicated husband, father, nonno and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Tustin, CA on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024.

Michael was born to the late Armando and Helen Aimola in Quincy, MA on September 30th, 1947.  He graduated from George Washington High School in 1965 before attending San Francisco City College and then on to Sacramento State, where he majored in Police Science.  Michael met his wife, Mary, while working as a resident manager of student housing where Mary would be attending business college.  He then started his 50+ year career in property management.

Michael and Mary married on February 14, 1981, and four years later welcomed their first child, Mark, in Tulsa, OK.  A few short years later and a move back to Southern California, Michael and Mary had the privilege of adding triplets to their family, welcoming Matthew, Megan and Melissa.

Through the years Michael enjoyed hunting, coaching youth ice hockey, working, cooking, Notre Dame football Saturdays and fulfilling his faith through various ministries throughout the church.  Michael loved taking trips back east to the Boston area to spend time with the Italian cousins and families.

Michael and Mary lived in Tulsa, OK, for six years, and have called Tustin their home for the last 37 years.

Michael’s passion for cooking led him to love Sunday dinners with the family, and spending summer nights out by the pool with a cigar in hand watching the grandkids swim.  His greatest achievement in life was becoming a ‘Nonno’ to Holden, Abby, Brighton, Brinkley, Ellie and Morris.  Michael was their biggest cheerleader making sure to attend all school and sporting events.

Michael is survived by his wife, Mary; their children Mark (Brittany), Matthew, Megan, and Melissa (Kyle) Sullenger; six grandchildren, Holden, Abby, Brighton, Brinkley, Ellie, Morris; and his brother, Richard.

He will be deeply missed but is now at peace with God, his father, Armando, mother, Helen, and younger sister, Nancy.

    In Loving Memory of Michael

It is with deep sorrow that I am writing this. To me Michael will always be a beloved mentor, colleague, and friend. For 36 years, Michael was a guiding light in my life. His wisdom and kindness shaped my success and knowledge of property management. I was fortunate to work alongside him every day for the past 27 years. He was not only my immediate supervisor but also a mentor who guided me with patience, dedication, and unwavering support.
Michael was a man of great patience, always deeply devoted to his family and his ministry. His compassion extended beyond his work, as he was a wonderful human being whose warmth and generosity left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
His sudden passing has left an irreplaceable void in my life. Though he left us too soon, his legacy of kindness, family values, and dedication to his faith will live on in all the lives he touched. He will always be remembered with love and admiration. Missing you very much Michael.

**In Loving Memory of Michael Aimola**
Today Michael Aimola was interned and layed to rest at Holy seplichure cemetery.
For 36 years, Michael Aimola was more than just a colleague and supervisor—he was a mentor, a guide, and a cherished friend. Over the last 27 of those years, his wisdom and kindness shaped not only my career but also my life. From the early days of floppy disks to the complexities of modern property management, Michael was always there to lend a helping hand and share his extensive knowledge. His dedication to our work was matched only by his generosity in teaching and supporting those around him.

Michael’s impact extended far beyond the professional realm. He had a unique ability to see the potential in people, and he took it upon himself to nurture that potential. Many of us owe our success to his guidance, patience, and encouragement. His legacy is carried forward in the countless individuals whose lives and careers he helped shape.

But above all, Michael was a friend. He was someone who could be counted on for a kind word, a listening ear, and a steady presence, even in the most challenging times. His kindness was evident in all that he did, and he had a way of making me feel valued and respected.

It is hard to put into words the sadness I feel at his passing. Diagnosed with illness in mid-May 2024, he left us far too soon and too quickly. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit and the lessons he imparted will remain with me forever.

Michael Aimola was a remarkable person who touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. I miss him deeply, and I am forever grateful for the time I had with him and the indelible mark he left on mine and many peoples hearts. Rest in peace, Michael. Your legacy of kindness, knowledge, and friendship will continue to inspire me always.
