Obituary
Michael K. Owens, age 65, of Laguna Hills passed away on May 16, 2012.
He was born in Goshen, Indiana, and is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals, including the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Mary and five children: Michelle, Christopher, Jeremy, Mark and Matthew; his mother, Phyllis Ida Owens; siblings – Jessica, Jeff and Jennifer; 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday, May 21st at 10 a.m. at the O’Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills and he will be interred at Miramar National Cemetery.

I didnt really get a chance to know Mike but my heart goes out to all my cousins who lost their father today….I love u all and am so very sorry!!

Julia and I will always have fond memories of Mike. Our interaction with Mike and Mary was several times weekly at “I Love Bagels!” We will never forget Mike a a caring and thoughtful person. When Mike and Mary came in the bagel shop, Mary would always try to get their favorite set while Mike ordered. He would fill Mary’s soda cup and bring it to her. When the bagels were ready, Mike would butter Mary’s bagel before he took care of his own. He was always cheery before his illness hit him hard and had kind words for all. I know he will be missed by the gang at “I Love Bagels!”
