Michael Ryan of Ladera Ranch, CA passed away on July 9 of natural causes at the age of 81. Born in Brooklyn, New York to Timothy Ryan and Bridget (Lysaght) Ryan, he graduated high school from the Catholic Schools Diocese of Brooklyn in 1949. Serving his country with honor in the Army from 1951 1953, Michael reached the rank of Corporal and continued to serve in the Army Reserve until being honorably discharged in 1960. After his Army service, Michael attended the University of Chicago before moving West to begin a career in the computer science field. Eventually settling in Southern California, Michael worked for such prestigious firms as GE, Xerox and Rockwell working on the original Space Shuttle test vehicles for Rockwell in the late 1970’s at Pasadena’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Michael is survived by his sons Timothy, Daniel and Michael Jr., grandchildren Maxwell, Hayden, Nathan and Macey, sisters Bridget and Anne, numerous nieces and nephews, and ex-spouse Anne. He was preceded in death by his brothers Patrick, Timothy, James, John, and Phillip.
Services will be held on Monday, July 22 at 12:15 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518.

A tribute to my brother Michael Joseph Ryan
There is so much I would like to share from my heart concerning my brother Michael but it would take me quite some time to express the love I have in my heart for him. I will miss him very deeply. His caring heart and wonderful childlike spirit and great laugh among so many wonderful qualities he passed will always remain with me. My thoughts and prayers are with his former wife Anne, his three sons and all those who knew and loved him.

I was very sorry to receive the news that my uncle Michael passed away. He was a beautiful person to me. I will always remember the kindness and love he shared to me.
