Obituary

Our beloved son, Michael Ernest Macali, was born on September 15, 1982 in Mission Viejo, CA. He left this earth peacefully in his sleep on January 5, 2024 in Lake Forest, CA.

Mike is survived by his father and mother, Richard and Pamela Macali, and sister, Charla  (Macali) Thatcher. Other surviving family members include cousins Janice Larrazolo and her husband Anthony; Robert Radomski and his wife Stephanie; Kyle and Lauren Larrazolo; Jessica Radomski; Melanie and Sadie Macali; Amanda ( Macali) Emmerson. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dean and Diane Macali; maternal grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth (Fish) Dwyer; step dad, Thomas Dwyer; uncles Robert and Ernest Macali; and aunt Mary Lou Radomski.

Mike attended RH Dana Elementary School, Serrano Middle School, El Toro High School, and Saddleback Transition.

In his younger life, Mike participated in many activities including: Challenger Baseball, Special Camp, Young Life, High Rollers, and Lighthouse. More recently, his time was spent with his “Country Family” listening to live music, going to concerts and enjoying the friends he met.

We were very proud of Mike’s accomplishments. He worked at Regal Cinemas, now Cinemark, in Foothill Ranch for 22 years. He, bravely, moved into his own apartment 11 years ago and loved the independence.

More importantly, we were proud of the caring and giving young man he became. He had many friends and touched many lives.

I still can’t believe you left us Mike.
The world is much emptier without you here. What an amazing person you were and what a remarkable life you lived.
In spite of the challenges you faced, you always had a smile and genuine love for your friends… and there are many. Your kindness and caring reached out to everyone that knew you. I am forever grateful for the precious time we spent together laughing, listening to country music and dancing. One day we will dance among the stars together. Till then, you will always be in my heart❤️

I play in a local country music band. Mike and his mother, Pam were regulars in the country music dance community. They were routinely early to arrive and late to leave. Mike always enjoyed himself and was quick to make friends. He was a wonderful guy who left an impression on many of us. He was an inspiration to others and will be greatly missed. Mike, you’ve undoubtedly earned a special place in heaven and I hope, one day, to meet up with you again my friend.

  3. Mike I’m sorry we didn’t keep in better touch my friend I met Mike at Saddleback College back in the Adapted Kinesiology Program when I would help out there. We were instantly friends. I found out Mike loved country music and told him I write country songs and managed a couple of country bands. He would come and see me at “The Crazy Horse” where I was a bouncer there. I would see him every once in awhile there with all his girlfriends. He was a charmer that was for sure ! He came to a Birthday I had one year that was a lot of fun. He and I kept in touch over time on Face Book . But as time is it just seems to take us all down different paths, he went one way and I went mine. I’ll never forget his laugh and his charismatic smile that was always infectious. I will miss you my friend and we will catch up again one day. I will be there today to say goodbye for awhile until our paths reconnect again as time does.
