Michael Francis
Catalano
July 9, 1928 – July 18, 2018
On July 18, 2018, our dear Lord and His angels called Michael Francis Catalano to be part of his forever kingdom.
Mike is survived by his ever thankful and loving wife, Palmina (nee Catanzaro). They celebrated 63 years of friendship and love, with his eldest daughter, Josephine and granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Schulman from St. Louis, and youngest daughter, Gina Maria from Rhode Island (Thomas Yates Exley, husband).
Michael was in the insurance industry for over 60 years and loved talking to people. He logged in more than 1,000 hours as a volunteer at Mission Hospital and made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches weekly at St. Kilian’s Church with a wonderful group of people.
Mike loved sports and followed the Pittsburgh Steelers as an avid fan. He and Polly never missed watching every game with their friends at a local restaurant. He had a zest for life, and was full of positivity. He wanted to ensure that everyone was in a happy place, which is where he is now. His vibrancy will be greatly missed.
Services were held on Monday, July 23rd, at St. Kilian’s Church, 26872 Estanciero Dr, Mission Viejo, California 92691. The Rosary was said at 10:30 am, with services following at 11:00 am. An Air Force salute followed the mass.
The procession was held immediately following at: Ascension Cemetery, 24754 Trabuco Road, Lake Forest, California 92630.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at St. Kilian’s Church, The Michael Catalano Peanut Butter Fund.
