Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Patrick Bell. He passed away on April 30, 2026, in his home in Laguna Niguel, California. He was born in Santa Monica, California, on February 8, 1962, and grew up in Huntington Beach and San Juan Capistrano, California.

Michael will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of family and friends. He valued time spent with those he loved most and created many cherished memories throughout his life.

He began his professional career in the family business of BAF Industries in 1986. He started as a Regional Sales Representative. In 1991, he became National Sales Manager. As Sales Manager, Michael took the company to new heights. In 2006, he transitioned to the operations side of the business, overseeing the launch of the new Florence, Kentucky facility. In 2012, Michael became President and co-owner with his brother, John, with the purchase of BAF from their father. In 2024, Michael retired from BAF with the sale of the company and 38-year success story.

Beyond his professional life, Michael had zeal for life and adventure. He was a history buff and well-traveled individual. If you were lucky enough to travel with Michael, you likely had the pleasure of having to read every plaque and sign along your journey. It was essential to him to learn the history of each and every place he traveled, as he loved immersing himself into new cultures.

He had a wealth of knowledge and dedicated much of his time to researching his favorite subjects and hobbies. Music was a hobby that Michael poured his heart into, whether it be through his love of speakers, concerts, or his daily listening, and singing, sessions.

Michael was a great cook and cherished trying recipes, old and new alike. He loved to incorporate vegetables, fruits, and herbs from his garden, which he also had an eye for. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time outdoors among nature and wildlife. He loved to spend time hiking and camping. The ocean was a constant in Michael’s life; he adored fishing, surfing, and swimming.

Michael’s life was a testament to love, perseverance, and the importance of family. He leaves behind a legacy in the countless lives he touched, the love he gave freely, and the memories that will be cherished forever.

He is survived by his three children, Hannah Bell, Sarah Bell & Connor Bell; fiancé Kimberly Christianson; mother Georgene Bell; two brothers, John Bell and Greg Matthews; and three sisters, Nancy Camarena, Kim Livingston and Sheri Curtis. Preceded by father Frank Bell.
