Mercedes Cirilo Diaz, 94, she was born September 24, 1912 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and passed away November 2, 2006 in Laguna Niguel, CA.

Mercedes owned and operated a small grocery store in Manhattan, NY prior to her move to California.

She is survived by her daughter, Raquel Gutierrez and her husband, Al; sister, Lydia Olmedo; 6 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mercedes was preceded in death by her husband, Frank and her sons, William Alicea and John Alicea.

A Vigil Service will be held on Monday, November 6, 2006 ~ 7:00 P.M. at O’Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills, CA.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 ~ 10:00 A.M. at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point, CA.

An Interment following the Funeral Mass at 1:30 P.M. at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
