Obituary

Maurice John Franke, loving father of Elizabeth Meier, Kathleen Sawicky and Andrew Franke, and adored husband of Marlene Joan Franke, went to be with the Lord on May 18, 2014, just a few hours before his 77th Birthday. He fought his 1½ year battle with pancreatic cancer with courage and grace. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Delores Franke, and his daughters, Amy and Jennifer Franke.

For 37 years, he worked for the 3M Corporation, first as a janitor and then, worked his way up to Account Executive for Dental Sales. Maurie was born in Fairmont MN on May 19, 1937. When he was 30 years old, he moved his wife and family to Mission Viejo, California, where he enjoyed the sunny weather and rejoiced in getting away from the harsh winters.

He was a family man, a loyal husband of 56 years, a faithful Catholic, and a man of integrity and dignity. He has six grandchildren: Sarah Jones, Ryan Meier, Elly, Hannah and Luke Sawicky, and Wesley Franke. And so it goes….
