Obituary

Matthew Shane Kaminski, 32, of Ladera Ranch passed away suddenly Tuesday morning October 28, 2008. He was born on October 7, 1976, in Downey, California, to Rick and Robin Kaminski. He was the oldest of their four children.

Matt attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Downey, from kindergarten through the eighth grade. He graduated from Mater Dei High School, in Santa Ana, in 1994. Matt went to Cypress College, then earned his insurance certification. He had a successful agency in Newport Beach with State Farm Insurance. As a State Farm Insurance Agent, Matt received several awards, including ‘Ambassadors for Life Travel’ three times and five times met the qualifications for ‘Legion of Honor.’

Matt met his wonderful wife, Christina Moore, also of Downey, shortly after graduating from high school. They were married at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point, on June 23, 2001. They moved to Ladera Ranch in 2005. They have three children, Josh 5, Dylan 3 and Katelyn 1.

Matt was determined to provide an exceptionally joyful life for his wife and children. He led a fulfilling life with his family, parents, and his many close friends. He loved being a daddy and most enjoyed the simple pleasures of his family life with Christina.

Matt enjoyed Josh’s soccer games and spending the day with Christina and the kids at Disneyland. Matt was a proud father and cherished every moment he was able to spend with the kids whether it was doing yard work or out running errands. Bath-time was ‘daddy time’ and the kids enjoyed it as much as Christina did the little break.

With his family and friends, Matt hosted bar-b-ques and loved planning short excursions and casual get-togethers. Each week, friends and family gathered on Sunday evenings at Rick and Robin’s to enjoy dinner and friendship.

With his family, he traveled to Europe, Bermuda, Hawaii, Jamaica, Alaska and never passed up an opportunity to join friends on a houseboat weekend or a trip to Vegas. He enjoyed golfing, watching the Angels, the Ducks and the Chargers, and always found a way to get good seats at the best concert in town.

Matt is survived by his wife, Christina Kaminski, their children Josh, Dylan and Katelyn and his parents, Richard and Robin Kaminski, all of of Ladera Ranch. He is also survived by his sister, Natalie Young and her husband Chris; brother, Timothy and wife Tanya and brother Steven Kaminski. His Grandma Alice Kaminski also resides in Ladera Ranch.

A Rosary for the repose of his soul will be held on Wednesday, November 5th at 7:00 p.m., at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point and the Mass of Resurrection will be at the same location on Thursday at 10:00 a.m.

Those lucky enough to have known Matt recognize that he never wasted a single moment and lived his life like most of us only dream. Matt touched everyone’s heart in different ways but the undying love everyone has for him is the same. Matt will never be forgotten and he will live in our hearts forever.

  4. Anita Keasey says:

We are so shocked and saddened by the death of Matt Kiminski. Whenever I had an insurance scenario or question for Matt, he was gracious and helpful. Although I never met him in person, I always felt he had a clear understanding of the insurance business and really wanted to help his clients. His advice was always helpful and he really seemed to love life and his business. I am so sad for his family and will think of you often in my prayers. May you live with the grace and joy he brought to his business life and feel our prayers from the Keasey family.
