Matthew Joaquín “Wolf” Herrera
May 19, 1971 – January 25, 2025

Matthew Joaquín “Wolf” Herrera, age 53 of Long Beach, California, passed into glory January 25, 2025. Matthew was born in Loma Linda, California and raised in Colton, California.

Matt was an amazing individual. He was intelligent and learned to appreciate the arts at a very young age. He taught himself to play the piano and wrote music.

Matt graduated from Colton High and attended UC Santa Barbara. While there he worked at the Vault on campus and went to work full time for them during his senior year. He also worked part time for the Santa Barbara CLO building sets and as a dresser.

Matt made long lasting friends in Santa Barbara and those friendships continue today. He left Santa Barbara and moved to LA before settling down in Long Beach, he worked for OTIS College of Art and Design as a student liaison until COVID forced the school to close temporarily.

Matt will be remembered for his humor, quick wit and as a great listener and advisor.

Matt is survived by his mother, Millie Herrera, his brother Andrew Herrera (Katie), his Uncle Mik Arguello, Aunt Diana Herrera, (Ramon dec.), his Godfather Joe Gonzales, Aunts Roberta Villegas (Martin) and Josie Zavala (David Dec.), Uncle Ernie Gonzales (Barbara, Dec), Aunt Clara Lara and a host of cousins. He loved his doggie, Taylor Mae and had the finest of friends.

A private viewing was held in Laguna Beach.
