Obituary
Mary Jo (Yarno) Huntsinger went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on September 8, 2014. She was born in Nebraska to Verle and Ada Yarno. She came to live in Long Beach, California at age 2. She graduated from Wilson High. She married Jack B. Huntsinger in 1953. She was mother to three sons, John, James “Dan” and Steve. After raising her boys she was employed at CSULB in the Finance office. She worked there for more than 20 years. After retirement, she traveled with Jack and she also took up tennis. In addition, to being a marvelous wife and mother, she was a loving mother-in-law to Karen, Kathy and Susie. She and Jack had 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The service will be held Saturday, September 20th at 11am
at SeaCoast Grace Church

When I opened this link and saw Mary’s face, as I hadn’t seen it in a long time, memories flooded over me. I heard her voice and laughter and thought of the good times we had together. We took walks to breakfast on Saturday mornings to Hof’s Hut and traveled far and wide. She was a trooper, who could keep up with anybody. I also remember taking tennis lessons with her. I never did much with it, but she went on to make it a big part of her life. She’s now arrived at her new address!

We have just recently heard of Mary Jo’s death and are reminded again of the loss that it is for family and friends. Our thoughts are with the family as you remember the precious times and experiences you had with her.
We are not able to be at the service as we will be in Colorado.

My friend Jack, I am so saddened to hear of Mary Jo’s passing. However, I am confident that she is, indeed, in a better place with Jesus Christ. Mary Jo was such a positive person and of course very understanding to support you and all your football endeavors. She sat through a many of those football banquets without complainant. Like they say, “Behind every great man, is a GREAT WOMAN”. She was your blessing.
Mary Jo was the most proud MOM, as she advised me of the latest updates for John, Dan and their families. Mary Jo will be missed, but I hope that you find peace in knowing that she had very happy and wonderful life. She always spoke of the your traveling adventures but expressed her joy in that the times were shared with the family.
