Obituary
Maryellen Guadagnino (née Whelan) was born on April 30, 1940 in Pasadena, California. She was born to James Whelan of Ireland and Pauline Phillips, she had two brothers Dennis and John. On January 8, 1966, she was wed to Chris Guadagnino and had two daughters Gina and Lisa. She retired from Quest Diagnostics after working in Client Services for 24 years. She was proud to serve in Stevens Ministry at Saint Killian Parish.
She was often referred to as Meg by her friends and truly valued those relationships. She was a loving and protective mother often referring to her kids as her “cubs”. She was extremely proud of her family and after 54 years was still in love with her “Italian Stallion “. She will be missed by many and will create a void felt by her absence. Our prayer is that Maryellen is in the arms of the Lord and her beloved family whom she so missed. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the elephant sanctuary that was dear to her heart. https://www.elephants.com/elephants.
Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 12th at Santiago de Compostela Catholic Church with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Please RSVP to guad@cox.net.

I called her Mew in 1966 and thought she and Chris were the most beautiful, nicest couple to meet in our Walnut Creek apartment building!
My heart is heavy for your family with her passing which has caught me by surprise since reconnecting on Facebook not long ago……
I am so very sorry for your loss. She was a light in this life which lives on in her girls. You can see the love. May all your beautiful, blessed memories comfort you and may God bless you all!

Like Miss Vicki above mentioned in 1966..she call you, ” MEW” …she should know….your many young nieces and nephews including me called you Aunt Mew…
It was ALWAYS a big deal when you and Uncle Chris would return to Staten Island and spend time with us on Bradley avenue.
But mostly…I remember ( at age 11, or 12 years old) the tour of the New York boroughs you brought us on, after dropping Uncle Chris off at one of the NY airports…wow…we really
Got LOST….LOL.
But Somehow, before running out of gas.. you found the right highway/ road back to the Verrazano bridge….and back onto Staten island…You let out the loudest YELL…it scared the hell out of me..but…I was happy to be back on the rock after our, “3 HOUR TOUR OF the 5 NEW YORK BOROUGHS”
Your beautiful smile and infectious laugh brightened up every family gathering…
My Uncle Chris and your two beautiful daughters, Gina and Lisa…may never get over your absence…but your lives together all these years provides many beautiful memories to comfort them….and I know you will be looking over your familigia everyday…

Dear Chris and family,
Mercedes Sharp let me know by email that she saw you at church and you told her that Mary Ann had passed.
Ken and I are so sorry. We send our sympathy and prayers. Mary Ann was a lovely, friendly woman.
