Mary Gibbons
October 7, 1928 – November 19, 2018

Mary Teresa Gibbons, born on October 7, 1928, passed away Monday November 19, 2018, The Fountains at Sea Bluffs, Dana Point, California at 90 years young. Born October 7, 1928 in Peoria, Illinois. She was the daughter of Joseph Falkner and Anna Loges Falkner. Mary married Robert (Bob) Gibbons in San Francisco. He preceded her in death in 1989. Mary was a true adventurer, leaving Peoria at the age of 25, moved to San Francisco where she lived and worked. After marrying, Bob and Mary moved to Kentfield, California where over the years they built three homes and raised their three children. Bob worked for Avery Label and was promoted to Western Regional Sales Manager which meant a move to Southern California where she lived the rest of her life. She was an avid cook and was part of a gourmet group for many years. She was active throughout her life, playing tennis at Tustin Hills Racquet Club and Laguna Niguel Racquet Club, and traveling the world. She enjoyed trips to Hong Kong, Estonia, Spain, Portugal, and British Columbia (just to name a few) but her favorite destination was Paris. She was always journaling her trips with detailed diaries of times, places, names, and events. She always had that competitive spirit, whether it was her weekly Bridge games or cheering on the Lakers. Mary also spent her time volunteering at the Sea Country Senior Center. She is survived by her three children, Thomas Gibbons and wife Julie of Seal Beach, California, Sarah Falkner Zappas and husband Greg of Laguna Niguel, California, and Emilie Schultz and husband Robert, of Los Gatos, California and grandchildren, Taylor, Andrew, Mason, Lauren, Ryan, Curtis, Holly, Mitchell, and Claire and sister-in-law Margaret Rouse.
