Mary Elizabeth Geddings passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 9, 2008 in Mission Viejo, CA at the age of 79.

Mary was born September 29, 1929 in Ellicott City, Maryland to Charles and Catherine Naide, one of four children. After spending her childhood in Maryland, Mary was married to her husband, Robert Bob, after he was released from the Navy following World War II. Immediately after their marriage, Mary accompanied Bob on a cross-country auto expedition to California. They settled in Culver City, a suburb in West Los Angeles, where they raised five children together. After Bob retired in 1985 they sold their long-time home in Culver City and purchased a new home in Mission Viejo.

Throughout her lifetime Mary was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Mary’s gentle understanding and loving attitude for everyone gained her many friends throughout her lifetime. Mary was always ready to share a good time with family and friends. A ready smile greeted everyone who encountered her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Joseph, husband Robert, and grandchild Eric. She is survived by her sister Sarah Jean Naide; brother Alvin Naide; sons Wayne, Chuck, and Jim Geddings; daughters Cindy Geddings and Marianne Hindman, and seven grandchildren Kally, Tevye, Chamise, Jennifer, Patrick, Devin, and Shauna.

A public vigil will be held Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 7 p.m. at O’Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 14, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church at 26872 Estanciero Dr., Mission Viejo, CA. Burial Services will be held immediately after the service at Ascension Cemetery, 24754 Trabuco Road, El Toro CA. She will be buried alongside her loving husband, Bob, who preceded her in death in November 1998.
