Mary E. Jaffe Obituary

Born March 15, 1906 in Chicago, Illinois, to Sol Ellis, and Minnie Paul Ellis.
Her parents both emigrated from Russia in the early 1900’s. Mary is the last survivor
of their six children.

Mary met Adolph Jaffe, who also emigrated from Russia. Adolph was a very attentive
suitor, they were married January 2, 1927. They were blessed with two children, a son,
Jack Allen born January 31, 1928. A daughter, Corrine Rita, born September 17, 1931.

Jack met and married Roberta Reiter, they have three daughters, Hillery, Jill, and Sue.
Corrine met and married Gordon Sherman and they have four sons, Stuart,
Loren, Jeremy, and Robert. These unions produced thirteen great grandchildren.

Each of her children and grandchildren have led happy and productive lives, and have brought Mary great joy, she would share her happy times with her family , with friends, and was so proud of their many achievements.

Mary and Adolph moved to Leisure World, California from Chicago in the early 1970’s.
They enjoyed the many activities offered by the community until Adolph passed away June
19, 1979. She locked her memories in her heart and moved on with life. Many visits to family, attending concerts and movies, enjoying her many friends.

After moving to Villa Valencia in November 1988, Mary established the Literary Circle.
She selected the most interesting speakers and books to entertain the group, no one ever left bored.

She organized the Shabbat Shalon at the Villa Valencia, and had seen that it was well attended. And made sure it was enjoyed by all.

Mary was full of life and her mind was active to the very end. She will be remembered
by her many remaining friends as well as her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her star will shine in all their hearts with the legacy she leaves behind.
