Mary Eloise Carroll's Obituary

Mary Eloise Carroll, 79, of Laguna Woods California, died Tuesday January 12, 2021 at Saddleback Memorial Hospital. Born May 6, 1941 in Chicago IL to the late James Carroll and La Vern Bourbon Carroll. Predeceased by brother Martin Carroll, nephew Michael Weaver and brother-in-law Ed Quinn. Survived by sisters Kathleen Quinn, Dolores and Jack Weaver, Janine and Michael Harris and their children Dan, Katie, Matt, Mary, Kevin, Sister Mary Magdalene, Rose, Crissy, Sharon, Mark, Ray, JoAnn, Dana, Sean and Erin. Mary received her education in IL at Trinity High School and Wheaton College graduating with a degree in Education. She started her love for teaching in a local high school then followed her love for math working for IBM in computer programming. However her love for teaching returned in various settings.

A lifelong active member of the Catholic Church. Most recently served as a Eucharistic Minister at Saint Nicholas Parish in Laguna Woods California where she became a resident in 1995. For many years she was a member of the Third Order of Carmelites and Oblates of the Precious Blood,

Family and friends were Mary’s delight and her Irish wit entertained them all. Travel to unusual parts of the world captured her interest, her favorites being Fatima and Medjugorje.

The family would like to thank all of those who cared for Mary at Laguna Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center and Saddleback Memorial Care Hospital Covid Unit.

Burial will take place February 6, 2021 at 2:00pm at Ascension Cemetery with St. Nicholas parish priest officiating.
