Obituary

Mary Anne Holtom passed away early in the morning on January 27, 2025, after battling MDS Leukemia for several years. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Tom, her daughter Amy Marian Dustin, Amy’s husband Joe Dustin, and her five grandchildren, Sean Daugherty, Alexis Hix, Mathew Hix, Olivia Dustin, and Max Dustin.

Mary Anne was known for her warm enthusiastic smile, her deep faith, and deep love for her family. A lifelong Catholic and daily communicant, one of her biggest thrills was being personally blessed by Pope John Paul in the Vatican in 1991. Prior to CoVid, she was an Eucharistic Minister at Hoag Hospital giving Communion to hospitalized patients.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness, joy, and selflessness, will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11: 00 AM, Friday, February 28, at Saint John Vianney Chapel on Balboa Island. A Rosary will be held at 10:15 AM just before the Mass. A Reception will be held at the Balboa Yacht Club, immediately after the Mass at 12:15.
