Martha Velez was a beloved wife and mother. She was born February 4, 1947 in Colombia SA to Ricardo and Marta Mejia. In Colombia she met and married her husband of 49 years, Alvaro Velez, and later moved to New York and eventually California.

Martha passed away with her family surrounding her on Saturday August 31st 2013. She is survived by her husband, Alvaro; her two children, Monica and Diego; her grandchildren, Jessica, Raquel, Diego, and Gabriel who predeceased her; two siblings, Hugo and Graciela, Camilo who predeceased her; nieces and nephews.

Martha enjoyed picking out, arranging and looking at fresh flowers. When you entered her home you would always encounter a lovely arrangement of fresh cut flowers including her favorites, sunflowers and calla lilies. She loved animals, her Chihuahua Shakira, and her inseparable white cat. Her favorite place in the world was the beach where she enjoyed long walks. She was a kind, sweet and caring person who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A Memorial service will be held in honor of Martha on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 4:00pm at O'Connor Mortuary 25301 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Hills, California 92653. Please join the family after the Memorial Service at 20432 Barents Sea Circle, Lake Forest, California, 92630.
