Obituary

Martha Louise Dempsey (nee Fuentes), 79, of Irvine, California, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Martha was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1946, to the late Joaquin Andrade Fuentes and Adele Maria Fuentes (nee Martinez). She dedicated her life to her family. Her loving spirit brightened the lives of all who knew her.

Martha is survived by her brother, Robert, and four children, Gary, Carrie, Teresa, and Lori. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Gary Ronald Dempsey, and brother, Thomas Alexander Fuentes.

Martha was the beloved center of her family and a woman loved beyond measure. She had a gift for making others smile and her home was always filled with warmth and laughter.

Some of her happiest moments were spent with her grandchildren — time she cherished above all else. Those days, surrounded by family, reflected who she was: loving, present, and devoted to her family.

A celebration of Martha’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on February 3, 2026, at the O’Connor Mortuary, located at 25301 Alicia Parkway, in Laguna Hills, followed by a graveside ceremony at the Good Shepherd Cemetery, located at 8301 Talbert Avenue in Huntington Beach. Martha’s family invites all who knew her to attend and share their favorite memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Martha’s memory to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s.
