Marta
Zamora
November 28, 1945 – December 15, 2024
In loving memory of Marta Ines Zamora, who passed away on December 15, 2024, in Mission Viejo, CA.
Wife of Carlos Manuel Zamora, mother of Christian and Karla, mother-in-law of Keith, and grandmother of Noah and Wren
Marta Zamora was born on November 28, 1945 in Costa Rica to Juan Felix Vargas and Ofelia Vargas Bolaños. She had three brothers and two sisters. Carlos, Juan, Oscar, and Magda have all preceded her in death. Marta is survived by her sister, Aurora Dixon and her daughter, Karla Beard, and her nephews and nieces and grandchildren.
Mom was a beautiful Costa Rican woman, an artist at heart with a passion for the beauty in everyday moments. Growing up, she was a spirited tomboy, fearlessly climbing trees with the same vigor she approached life's challenges.
Marta was a homemaker, a school volunteer, and an elementary school lunch lady. Her contributions went beyond her home, as she also loved to sew, paint, capture memories with her camera, tend to her garden, and dance. Mom shared her warmth at prayer meetings, and her joy during church retreats. Her love for movies transported her to different worlds As a devoted wife, she stood steadfastly by Dad through thick and thin. She found unmeasured happiness in taking care of her grandchildren and teaching us, her kids, essential life skills.
In parting from us, my mother left a legacy that is profound and pure. She reminded us to be grateful, not just for our home, relatives, and friends, but for the precious gift of life itself. I have never known anyone who departed this earth with the grace that my mother did. Her passing gifted us with a fortitude to carry on, wrapped in a glowing opal aura of peace and strength.
I hope we can all remember Marta Ines as she lived—full of courage, brilliance, and unwavering faith Though our hearts ache with your absence, we are eternally grateful for the love and lessons you imparted to us. We are better for having known you and blessed to carry your memory in our hearts. Thank you, Mom, for being our greatest teacher, our guiding light, and our forever inspiration. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
Funeral mass to honor Marta will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 10, 2025, at Santiago De Compostela Catholic Church, CA with graveside to follow at 12:30, at Ascension Cemetery.
