Obituary

Dear friends and family,

With heavy hearts, we sadly share the passing of Mark McGowan on Thursday, June 21, 2012. Mark was on his way to meet an old friend when he tragically slipped and fell down a flight of stairs outside his apartment. Although paramedics valiantly tried to save him, his injuries were too great to overcome.

Surrounded by his immediate family, Mark will be laid to rest at Ascension Cemetery located in Lake Forest, CA close to his parents home. Although we are saddened to say goodbye at far too early an age, we take comfort that Mark will forever reside in our hearts as a loving son, brother and uncle with a joyous spirit and kindhearted soul.

Thank you for all of your kind thoughts and prayers.

  3. Mark will always hold a special place in my heart for being the kind, funny and cute senior who was so nice to me as a freshman just because he was friends with my sister. He clearly loved his family and was quite proud of you all. I pray you find some peace in knowing he touched so many lives. God bless, Kathy (Masak) Scuoler NDHS ’88

Alice and I knew Mark for only few years, but it did not take long to understand that Mark was just a great guy. We will aways miss his smile.

JIm Sr., Cathy, Meredith, and Jim,

we are very sad for you and your loss of Mark. We remember with fondness the special occasions like Thanksgiving where we spent wonderful afternoons with Mark and the rest of the family at Sue and Jim’s home. Mark was always smiling and laughing and a joy to be around. You are in our thoughts in your time of sorrow.
