Mark David Mendillo
Mark David Mendillo, 59, of Mission Viejo, CA, died on October 23, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in New Britain, CT, he was the son of the late Vincent and Love (Wallack) Mendillo, who were both life-long residents of New Britain.
Mark was a mechanical engineer in the medical devices industry for 30 years. He was also the owner of a small business in Newport Beach, CA. Mark’s hobbies included fishing, fly tying, playing the guitar, and attending concerts and baseball games.
Preceeded in death by both of his parents, Mark leaves behind his loving wife, Lynne (Tuber) Mendillo; his son, Vincent Mendillo of Lake Forest, CA; his step-daughter, Elizabeth Higgins of Renton, WA; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Janice Mendillo of Branford, CT; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Ron Miller of Yardley, PA, Jane Mendillo and Ralph Earle of Boston, MA, and Lisa and Paul Kulhanek of St. Paul, MN; 4 nieces, 3 nephews, and 10 cousins.
A memorial service is being planned and will be announced at a future date.

Mark was such a dear and special brother in law, brother, and friend. So many memories of fishing with you buddy, and being together at family events. I always enjoyed spending time with you. Your great smile,, your sense of humor, your infectious laugh, your love of our children. You told funny stories, and even when you were mad at some injustice, you managed to turn it into a smile. I love you my brother. While our hearts ache, we are so glad that your pain and struggle are over. Remember that Nancy and I want to live near you in heaven. And give your mom and dad and my mom.a big hug for us! .We miss them dearly, but are so happy that you are together again.

I was 6 and a half when you became part of my life, so I have very few memories of my life before you were part of it. As my cherished younger brother, you will always be alive in the memories I hold in my heart. I miss you every day. I find comfort in knowing that you are no longer in pain, that all your tears have been forever wiped away, and that I will see your smile again someday in heaven. You are not gone, you have only gone before me. I love you.
