MARJORIE L. KNISELY (MRS. ROBERT D.)
January 25, 1924-January 8, 2014

Marjorie L. Knisely (Mrs. Robert) passed away peacefully in her residence in Mission Viejo, California on January 8, 2014. Her three children were at her bedside when she passed away. She was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a kind and caring person who had many friends in Nebraska City, her hometown for 58 years. She was married for 66 years to Bob Knisely, the love of her life, who preceded her in death.

Marjorie was born in Falls City, Nebraska in 1924 to Art and Blanche Simmons. She had one sister, Polly, who preceded her in death. She was raised in Falls City and lived there until 1945. After her husband returned from service in the Army Air Corps that year, they resided in Shubert, Nebraska, Waterloo, Illinois and Manhattan, Kansas before moving to Nebraska City in 1954. She lived in Nebraska City until 2012.

She is survived by her three children: Robert L. and his wife, Linda, of Aliso Viejo, California, Rita of Mission Viejo, California and Jo Ann Meredith and her husband, Bob, of Mission Viejo, California; her six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one nephew.

Besides her family, she most loved her dogs, all Schnauzers, and Nebraska football. She will be remembered by all as an elegant woman who always exhibited grace, warmth and kindness.

A family celebration of her life will be held in Nebraska City next summer. She will be interred at Wyuka Cemetery next to her husband.
