Obituary

Marjorie C. VanDeMore was born December 10, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio. She lived at 706 E. 124th Street, Cleveland, OH. She was the daughter of Harry K. & Elizabeth Baird Brown, both natives of Scotland, and sister of Harry Brown.

Marjorie died February 11, 2007 at Saddleback Memorial Hospital, San Clemente, CA 92671 of complications of pneumonia, heart arrhythmia, and finally, kidney failure.

She was baptized into the Catholic Church in 1947 and married in the Catholic Church on August 23, 1947 to Don H. VanDeMore who preceded her in death in March, 1997.

Marjie was employed for over 25 years at Union Oil of California and retired at age 60 in 1977.

She lived in the Los Angeles area, most recently in Hollywood until December, 1993. In order to be near family and friends living in Orange County, she moved to Leisure World in December, 1993.

Since breaking her hip in March, 2004, she has been living with her niece, Carol Johnson, and family, Paul, Andrew and Maggie, at their home in San Juan Capistrano. For her age, she lived a healthy and active life until January, 2008. Since then she was hospitalized three times and, living in a ‘rehab’ care center, was preparing to return to her home with the Johnsons.

Marjie is survived by her niece, Carol Johnson, and nephew, Douglas Brown.
