Marilyn, my wonderful friend, I miss you so much. I missed you for our playdate at the Pet Expo which you and I always loved. I took a picture of the dogs you said the last time you were going to downsize when you retire. I could tell you were there with me in spirit as all of the animals that I visited smiling and happy. I will miss our Snooty Fox breakfasts as you were my only friend who would go there with me. And then we’d walk to the used bookstore and spend a couple of hours there. You getting books to read and me purchasing books but never reading which always made you laugh. I still remember first meeting you at Berger Kahn prior to my employment. You walked around the corner with your cowboy boots, denim ruffle skirt and a bright blouse on and that great smile of yours. I knew we’d become great friends at the moment. You spent some of my greatest birthdays with me….The Huntington Library with Pam and Ann and the birthday I got my arm tattoo of my epiphany which, ironically, was next to the famous guy who painted your beloved Mustang. I cherish every moment we have spent together and I have so many cherished memories. Your smiling face comes towards me constantly so I know you are Home with God, your Dad and your previous pets and my friend Monica who I lost the same week I lost you. Enjoy my friend and be with me tomorrow as I will be celebrating your life with our favorite champagne! I love you. Until we meet again….

I still feel your presence here at the office … we shared so many memories over the 20+ years together. You were always so upbeat and willing to stop whatever you were doing to help others, and you knew something about everything in the office. Everyone here truly misses you. Soon I will be departing to your hometown of Missouri and taking all your advice for my new garden … I can’t wait to plant flowers, or as you said “bulbs”, in your memory. God bless.

Marilyn was one of my best friends.

She loved everything I did, such as pets, dogs, gardening, flowers, humor, jewelry, and friendships. I was fortunate that she graced my life. She did not have a mean bone in her body. Over the course of the 19.7 years I worked with her at Berger Kahn, and our 24 year + friendship, the meanest thing she ever said, was when she was working for a person who others detested, Marilyn said “well, he can be difficult at times.”

I enjoyed all of Marilyn’s christmas cards and collected them for display in my home year around. I will have copies of the entire set at the memorial, and try to up load them for others to enjoy.

Those who knew Marilyn knew her pets and family meant the world to her. I am glad that I was able to meet with her last December for her birthday season. She was busy with her mom and life, but when I hand delivered my xmas card of our dogs, she said she would rally her spirits and send a 2013 New Years Card. Her 2013 card was vintage Marilyn. It shows how thoughtful and clever she was. I am thankful that she and others were able to get together to celebrate another dear friend’s birthday March 19,2013, and will cherish that last time. I will always remember her and I miss my dear friend. I cannot look at the plants in my yard, each day without missing her. Julia Mouser
