Marilyn Ann Lund, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on January 10, 2008 after her courageous struggle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones. Born March 30, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, she attended Webster High School in Rochester, NY and Syracuse University in NY. She married Dr. Harold G. Lund in 1959 and moved to the Palos Verdes Peninsula in 1967 where they raised their two children. She was active in many organizations including the LA County Medical Wives Auxiliary, PTA, Rolling Hills Women’s Club, Peninsula Committee for the LA Philharmonic, Bravo, Act II, and the St. John Fisher Church Stephen and Eucharistic Ministries. Marilyn loved sailing, line dancing, country music and playing bridge. In 2002, she moved to Dana Point, CA where she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her son Christopher Lund, her daughter Tina Lund Cartwright, and granddaughter Alissa. Memorial services will be held at St. John Fisher Church on February 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ASPCA.
