Marie was born in West Virginia. She had 1 brother and 3 sisters. She resided in Dundalk Maryland. She got her nick name Ree Ree from her younger sister Sue and was mostly known as Ree Ree to everyone. Her first job was a checker in a grocery store, then an aircraft parts factory where she became one of the famous 'Rosie Riveters'.

In 1963 she moved to California and put in a long tour at the Chautaeu Briand restaurant in Pico Riveria as a waitress, which was her favorite job because she loved people.

As a youngster Ree Ree loved all sports and played basketball, volley ball and tennis. When she moved to Laguna Woods, lawn bowling became her passion and she was quite good at it too. Ree Ree always tried to stay active and loved to dance. She liked sending and receiving emails and got pretty good on a computer considering she had no idea how to use one when she got it.

Ree Ree always took pride in her appearance and loved to always look her best. She always had on the cutest outfits and dangle earrings were a must. She just always stood out in a crowd!

When the love of her life William (Tex) Laney and husband for over 40 years passed away, her spark seemed to dim a bit. He was truly her soul mate, and she missed him greatly. Ree Ree is survived by her two daughters, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and her younger sister.

She will be forever missed and always in our hearts.
