Maria Yolanda Rivas-Torrison
July 6, 1955 – May 15, 2025

Maria Yolanda Rivas-Torrison the eldest daughter of Yolanda (Vellanoweth) Rivas & Hector Jose Rivas born on July 6th 1955 has returned to heaven on May 15th 2025. Her body has been restored in the arms of the Lord, and she is reunited with her Mother, Father, and Grandparents.

During her time on Earth, Maria was an exceptional daughter, sister and a wonderful wife and mother.

In 1992, Maria relocated to Rancho Santa Margarita with Donald to start a family. Maria married the love of her life, Donald Phillip Torrison on December 12th 1992. Maria and Donald had one daughter, Erin Rivas (Palmer-)Torrison. Despite Maria’s distinguished career as an aerospace engineer, she iterated that her professional life paled in comparison to being Erin’s Mom.

Maria was the embodiment of selflessness, strength, resilience, perseverance, and love. She has impacted, touched, formed, and improved the lives of her loved ones and therefore the light of her life will never dim.

We intend to foster a joyful, peaceful environment for loved ones to gather, reflect and share fond memories of Maria while comforting one another (sweet treats included).
