Obituary

Maria Elena Casillas, 68, of Laguna Hills, passed away peacefully at home November 9 2018.

Maria Elena was born January 3 1950 to Elisa Cota Mayen and Arturo Casillas. 43 years ago she married Roberto Macias on June 12, 1976; they have been a residents of Laguna Hills California for 26 years.

A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Maria Elena touched the lives of everyone she ever met, and welcomed everyone. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, making beautiful flower arrangements, feeding those who walked in her door. She had a unique ability to find the beauty in everything and the good in everyone. Maria Elena will be remembered for her amazing ability to put people at ease with her sage insight, compassion, kindness, encouraging words and her quick witty humor.

Maria Elena is survived by her loving and devoted husband Roberto Macias; their two sons, Robert (Flora), Alfredo (Maureen); and her seven grandchildren Jacob, Brian, Nathan, Aidan, Mason, Nicholas and Isabel.

Maria Elena’s surviving relatives include her parents Elisa Cota Mayen and Arturo Casillas (Sonia Casillas); three sisters Raquel Guillen, Elisa Peraza and Sonia Casillas; and four brothers Benito Peraza, Arturo Casillas, Jerry Casillas and Xavier Casillas; and countless loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 10:00am on December 2, 2018 at O’Connors Mortuary in Laguna Hills, a private interment will be held with family.
