Obituary
Margaret Wayne, age 95, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at her home in Laguna Woods.
Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Ronald Wayne, dear mother of Christine Armendariz, and “Gramma” to grandson Cameron Armendariz, granddaughter-in-law Michelle Armendariz, and great grandson Dustin Armendariz.
Margaret was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on August 31,1927. She was a Scottish dancer and dance teacher. She met her husband Ron during WWII and they married in 1946. Margaret travelled to Toronto, Canada, by ship as a war bride and settled in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. She was, however, very home sick for Edinburgh so travelled back and forth for a couple of years before finally settling in Toronto.
Margaret and Ron lived in Toronto until 1974; they then moved to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. In 1989 they made their final move to Laguna Woods. Margaret loved living in Laguna Woods and made many friends. She liked to dance, knit, do puzzles, and socialize with her many friends. Geneva Presbyterian became her church where she was warmly welcomed and made to feel part of the church community of Christ.
Margaret will always be remembered for her warm smile, kind nature, and stories of Scotland.
Celebration of Life will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, January 11 at Geneva Presbyterian Church Chapel in Laguna Woods.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for any donations to go the American Cancer Society.
