Obituary

Margaret ‘Marge’ Pauline Munton Velardo, 91, of Laguna Niguel, a loving wife, nurturing mother, doting grandmother and devoted friend, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 of natural causes.

She was born on July 25, 1922 in Hillsboro, Illinois to the late Noah Munton and Ruth Crihfield. She graduated from Denby High School in Detroit and later married Raymond Michale Velardo on August 16, 1941.

Marge was an accomplished interior designer who owned and operated her own studios as well as started the first upscale interior home furnishings design center for Bullock’s Department Store. She held accreditations from NSID, AISD and ISID.

In addition to Raymond, her beloved husband of 72 years, Marge is survived by daughters Crystal Ann Kochendorfer of Dana Point and Deborah Rose Scott (Torrey) of Little Elm, Texas; 6 grandchildren: Sean Regan, John Kochendorfer (Merissa), Rachel Dishong (Darrin), Beth Kochendorfer (Jenny), Matthew Scott (Molli), Samantha Miller; 13 great grandchildren: Brendan, Corey, Devin, Brian, Aidan, Julia, Stormy, Bristen, Deegan, Jackson, Charlotte, Brooke-Lynn, London and one on the way. In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her daughter Cheryle Lynn Velardo and son-in-law Paul Kochendorfer.

Family and friends were always her priority and she provided much comfort and joy to all who knew her. Marge was a woman of great strength and remarkable character. She brought love and beauty to the world and is deeply missed.

Services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at O’Connor Mortuary, Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills.
